Scientist (m/f/d) in a postdoc position in Reutlingen

We are a non-university research institute at the interface of biosciences and materials science. With our unique, interdisciplinary range of expertise, we are a strong partner in the field of research and development as well as by providing services for regional and international companies. Our services are aimed at companies in the healthcare industry as well as in vehicle, machine and tool construction and cover the broad spectrum of materials technology and quality control.

The Molecular Neuroscience team conducts research in cooperation with academic, clinical, and industrial partners. The group is engaged in the translation of basic research results into industrial application in the field of CNS diseases. The development of novel disease models for drug discovery comprises an important research focus. To strengthen our team we are looking for a scientist in a postdoc position (m/f/d) with the opportunity to become a group leader.

Your tasks

  • Planning and conducting research and development projects
  • Project management in terms of experimental planning, timelines, milestones, as well as communication with clients, partners, and sponsors
  • Acquiring R&D projects (publically funded as well as funded by industry)
  • Scientific and organisational management of BSc/MSc/PhD students and technicians

Requirements


  • Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biotechnology or related disciplines with a background in neuroscience, ideally in neurological or neuropsychiatric disorders

  • Experience in molecular and cell biology, especially in the field of stem cells
  • Management skills - we encourage and support the development of management skills
  • Interest to attract public funding as well as funding from industrial sponsors
  • Experience in supervising BSc/MSc students or technicians
  • Open minded and highly communicative
  • Excellent team spirit, strong presentation and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and German
