Scientist/PostDoc (m/f/d) Biochemistry / Immunoassay Technologies
The NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute in Reutlingen is a non-profit research institution and conducts application-oriented research at the interface of bio- and material sciences. It has a unique, interdisciplinary range of competencies for R&D and services for regional and international companies. The institute addresses both the health care industry and industrial sectors with materials technology and quality-oriented issues such as automotive and mechanical engineering.
The Applied Biomarkers and Immunoassay Group at the NMI has extensive expertise in high-sensitive and multiplexed miniaturized immunoassays. We are renowned for our proficiency in assay development, validation, and the application of these assays in exploratory sample screenings (non-regulated) and clinical study sample analysis (GCLP) for public funded project and direct contract research.
To fortify our team, we seek a postdoctoral scientist (m/f/d) with a robust background in Biochemistry/Immunology and/or immunoassay technologies to join us at the earliest opportunity.
Your responsibilities
- Drive innovative developments in immunoassays, including ELISAs and assays on the Simoa (Quanterix) and Luminex-platform
- Design and execute assay development and validation projects
- Provide guidance and supervision to technical staff
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and working under GCLP conditions
- Validate laboratory instruments and actively participate in the validation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Efficiently manage multiple projects, overseeing experimental planning, timelines, milestones, and reporting, while maintaining open communication with clients, partners, and sponsors
- Scientific publication of scientific results
- Raising of third-party funds and composing grant applications
Your qualification
- Hold a PhD degree obtained in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biotechnology, or related disciplines, accompanied by a robust background in Biotechnology/Immunology
- Proven expertise in immunoassay development (e.g. ELISA, SIMOA, Luminex, MSD) is essential
- Hands-on experience in working with proteins and antibodies is essential
- Having prior experience working under regulated conditions (e.g. GCP, GLP, GMP) would be highly advantageous and beneficial for this position
- Exhibit genuine enthusiasm for translational science, coupled with exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to solving complex challenges
- Excellent team spirit, presenting a collaborative and cooperative attitude towards
- Demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills, effectively conveying complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactive, independent and structured approach to work, with the ability to work under time pressure
- Familiarity with statistical data evaluation, including proficiency in related programming languages (e.g., "R," Python), will be considered an advantage
- Fluency in both English and German is required
