The Biomedical Micro- and Nanotechnology Group at the NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute offers a position for a bachelor/master student (m/f/d) for a thesis on Mesh Microelectrode Arrays (MEAs) for Neural Spheroids and Organoids.

Your tasks

  • Assembly of mesh MEA devices, including wire-bonding, plasma treatment, robotic gluing
  • Electrical characterization and impedance measurements of fabricated MEAs
  • Test engineering and accelerated aging experiments
  • Collaboration with in-house neurobiologists for biological validation
  • Data analysis and documentation of experimental results

Your profile

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in electrical engineering, microsystems engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or a related field

  • Experience or interest in microfabrication, biosensors, or electrophysiology
  • Basic knowledge of cleanroom processing, microelectronics, or microfluidics is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills and motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting is a plus
